Calibration Services are provided for a wide range of measuring and test equipment, including customer reference standards, related to; manufacturing, product design, test engineering, acceptance qualification as well as R&D. From single calibrations to management of your entire metrology system, these technical services are provided to nearly all industries such as; automotive, environmental, chemical, bio-medical, aerospace and standards laboratories. Accredited Services

Northrop Grumman is AS9100D certified. Measurements and calibrations are performed in compliance to ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006 and/or ISO 17025 Accredited based on customer request. New to the Scope of Accreditation is Torque and Temperature.

Measurement Engineering Consulting

Northrop Grumman has a staff of engineers and quality assurance personnel available for a wide range of technical consulting related to measurement and calibration. Consulting services range from the practical application of measurement theory and state of the art measurements to managing processes in the metrology environment.

NOTE: Measurements are NIST Traceable for parameters and frequencies supported by NIST.

ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Calibration, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (section 7.1.3) states:

When the customer requests a statement of conformity to a specification or standard for the test or calibration (e.g. pass/fail, in-tolerance/out-of-tolerance), the specification or standard and the decision rule shall be clearly defined. Unless inherent in the requested specification or standard, the decision rule selected shall be communicated to, and agreed with, the customer.

In order to meet the 2% PFA (Probability of False Accept), the Northrop Grumman SSSD Metrology Services Laboratory decision rule is defined as follows (see Test Result Evaluation chart).

If you prefer a different decision rule, please reach out to your Northrop Grumman SSSD Metrology Services representative. The acceptance of Northrop Grumman Space Systems’ Decision Rule is as designated unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, prior to the start of the calibration.
