NASA’s Artemis Program—Returning Humans to the Moon

Date: July 12, 2021

Time: 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET

Description: We will provide an overview of NASA's Artemis Program. Artemis will return astronauts to the Lunar service, including the first woman and the first person of color. We will use innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before, and use what we learn to send astronauts to Mars.

MATHCOUNTS

Description: Participants will learn about MATHCOUNTS middle school math programs including its annual competition, National Math Club and Math Video Challenge. Students will engage in fun virtual math games and challenges during the webinar.

Organization Description: The MATHCOUNTS Foundation offers extracurricular math programs to middle school students. More than a quarter million students participate in their programs or use their resources each year.

Junior Achievement Finance Park

Date: July 15, 2021

Description: Students will learn about financial decision making during a virtual online simulation. Participants will receive a fictitious financial profile which includes a career and income. During the activity, they will set goals for saving, conduct research, shop, and pay their monthly expenses.

Organization Description: Junior Achievement of Central Maryland helps students build a foundation upon which they can make intelligent financial decisions that last a lifetime, including decisions related to income, expenses, savings, and credit.

Audience: Middle school/high school students, parents and educators. Open to participants in every state.

Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts

Description: Learn about interactive, STEM-focused, arts-based experiences that can be easily conducted at home and within daily routines. During this session, a dance artist will guide children and their families on an imaginary journey to see what’s growing in the garden. Accompanied by a puppeteer and her puppet friends, they will sing and tell stories about the animals found around a great big tree.

Organization Description:

Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts offers professional development programs which empowers infant, toddler, preschool, and kindergarten teachers to integrate the performing arts into their classrooms.
