Australia receives two Triton aircraft

The Royal Australian Air Force recently received their second and third MQ-4C Triton uncrewed maritime surveillance aircraft. With the delivery of these aircraft, Australia continues to field the most advanced high-altitude, long-endurance capability to safeguard its maritime interests.

Detecting Threats Faster

MQ-4C Triton's persistent, high-altitude maritime ISR detects, tracks, and classifies objects quickly and safely by flying higher, longer and more efficiently while quickly sharing data to enable military coordination.

Triton is the only autonomous high altitude, long endurance (HALE) maritime aircraft capable of operating at altitudes above 50,000 ft, for 24-plus hours with a range of 7,400 nautical miles.

Triton builds on Northrop Grumman's autonomy and HALE leadership to provide unmatched persistent maritime surveillance, early warning to missile threats, and detection and targeting from standoff range. The aircraft can operate collaboratively with crewed platforms across domains through the intelligent and timely exchange of data. Triton’s ultra-long endurance and domain awareness also make it ideal for a wide range of Homeland Defense missions.

A single MQ-4C, with its ultra-long operational range and high-altitude combined with simultaneous operations of the 360-degree multi-intelligence suite, provides four times the ISR coverage of other autonomous platforms without sacrificing altitude, range, or endurance. Triton can see farther, fly longer, act faster, identify quicker and is more survivable than less capable medium-altitude uncrewed systems.
